Cape Town Holiday Accommodation
Cape Town is a unique destination boasting a cosmopolitan blend of cultures, modern conveniences, fantastic galleries and theatres, a rich history and exquisite natural scenery.
Table Mountain dominates the skyline from the moment you step off the plane. The entire mountain is a natural park with reserved areas playing host to a multitude of animals such as zebra and springbok; don't worry, there are no lions on the mountain!
Atmosphere
There is a Mediterranean climate and plenty of golden, sandy beaches for tanning and picnicking and even celebrity spotting since Cape Town has become a key destination for the making of some major international films.
People are friendly and helpful, despite the crime there is still a feeling of ubuntu (the African philosophy of community) and, even though it is a modern city, a small-town feeling persists in many areas. You can even safely drink the tap water!
What to see and do?
There are fabulous nightclubs that appeal to a wide range of tastes, from reggae lounges and grunge bars to exclusive clubs featuring international DJs. Cape Town has an awesome selection of great restaurants specializing in every sort of international and local cuisine. There are also fun parks for the kids and wild extreme-sports adventures for all those adrenaline junkies out there.
Activities
World class surfing spots are a major feature of the Cape coast and even in winter, die-hard dudes can be seen gliding gracefully in front of cresting, white capped waves. If you would rather be beneath the surface then you could also go scuba diving or snorkeling among the surreal kelp forests and famous old wrecks that dot the coast. The ocean life is spectacular and can also be enjoyed without a wetsuit when you go to the Two Oceans Aquarium at the V&A Waterfront. Also available at the internationally acclaimed Waterfront are romantic sailing trips and helicopter rides.
Nature
You will see some of the most magnificent views in the world if go mountain-climbing on Table Mountain or one of the many other, smaller mountains that make up the magnificent landscape of the Cape. The culmination of the splendid mountains and beaches is to be found at the Cape Point. The Atlantic and Indian oceans meet in spectacular fashion beneath one of the highest sea-cliffs in the world, all within the grandeur of the Cape Point Nature Reserve.
